Ben Hartman is an American-Israeli journalist currently living in Austin. For seven years he worked as a reporter and columnist for The Jerusalem Post, and prior to that, as an editor and writer for Haaretz.com for three years. He has a BA in History from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in Security Studies from Tel Aviv University, where his thesis focused on the proliferation of private military contractors in modern warfare.
His writings have appeared in The Daily Beast, High Times, The Atlantic, CNN.com, Tablet, The Forward and The Jewish Chronicle. He’s appeared as a guest on Al-Jazeera English, CNN and New Zealand’s 3 News.
He’s a regular contributor to Monocle Radio and has done radio reporting for BBC Radio.
